Shirley Ann Inman, 76, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
There will be a celebration of life from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 2, 2017, at the American Legion, 1511 South Union Street, Des Moines, IA 50315.
Shirley was born May 15, 1940, in Des Moines, Iowa to Trenton and Dorothy (Keaton) Jennings. She was proud to be a housewife, wife, mother and grandmother. Shirley loved her family and treasured visits from her grandchildren and passing the time on her deck with family, watching the hummingbirds come to her feeders. She enjoyed watching all types of birds and would always have food out for them. Shirley was a wonderful cook and enjoyed trips to the Iowa State Fair and vacationing in Florida.
She is survived by her husband, George; children, Diana (Dan) Hinch, George (Esther) Inman III, and Tina Stalzer; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Kenny (Debbie) Steffens, Rose (Denny) Halterman, and Don Steffens. Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Trenton Jennings; mother, Dorothy Steffens; step-father, Kenny Steffens; and her sister, Marilyn Lampman.

To my Aunt Shirley. Oh, how I love you! When I think of you, I know that Im a better person for having had you in my life. So many of my best childhood memories are staying at your house. I loved being at your house with all of you. You were everyones confidante and best friend. Life will never be the same without you and your love of your family and friends. And to Uncle Junior, Diana & Dan, Junior & Esther and Tina and all of the rest of you (and there are many), my heart goes out to you. She loved you all so much. What a beautiful person inside and out. God has gained a precious Angel who will be missed more than words can ever say. May you keep your memories close and know that shes watching over all of you. I am so DEEPLY SORRY TO HEAR the Passing of My Neighbor .....Back in Iowa ....Shirley Was such a Sweet and Beautiful Lady...I shall Miss her so Much ....God has taken home another one of his Children another Star will be twinkling down upon us....My Prayers are with you Jr and your Family....I shall miss Her ..and her Letter's of keeping in touch ....God Bless You All In This Time of Sorrow.....
