Marquieta J. Eddis

Marquieta Joann Eddis, 84, died peacefully Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Parkridge Nursing and Rehab in Pleasant Hill.

Marquieta was born February 13, 1933 to Robert and Valda Folsom in Des Moines. She worked many years as a nurse’s aide at Valley View Village.

Marquieta is survived by her children, Bob (Lois) Eddis, Cindy (Rick) Johnson, Tom Eddis, Sue (Steve) Wilson, and Penny (Ron) Edwards; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Norman (Donna) Folsom; sister, Wilma VanGundy; and a host of other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Eddis; brother, Robert (Barbara) Folsom; and granddaughters, Jamie Handsaker and Baby Girl Wilson.

Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street, in Altoona. A private interment will occur at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa in loving memory of Marquieta.
