Beverly Campbell
February 28, 2017
Beverly Ann Dinnen-Campbell, 61, was peacefully called to Heaven on February 28, 2017 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Per her wishes, her body has been cremated. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from noon to 3:00 p.m. at The Cub Club
at Principal Park on Saturday, April 22, 2017.
Beverly was born July 31, 1955 in Des Moines to Leo and Glada (Houser) Carroll. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1973. Beverly retired from Mercy Hospital in 2016 where she had worked in the IT Department for 28 years. She had a “Green Thumb” and spent lots of time working outside in her garden. Beverly cherished time spent with her grandchildren.
Beverly was the definition of selflessness and humility. Her passion was her family and she poured her heart and soul into caring for her five boys and ten grandchildren. She and her husband John loved to travel to San Diego, Denver and Seattle for leisure and to spend time with their children and grandchildren.
Beverly was the golden rule. She lived a life of kindness and displayed it with grace.
She will be remembered as a loving compassionate woman who always put others needs before her own and will be missed dearly by her friends and family. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, John Campbell; the boys, Travis (Brandi) Dinnen, and their children, Zach, Alex, Graci, Wade and Drew, Jake (Caroline) Dinnen, and their children, Liam and Natalie, David (Jen) Dinnen, and their children, Taylor and Avery, Michael (Denise) Campbell and their daughter, Madison and Joshua (Sara) Campbell; mother, Glada Carroll; siblings, Phil (Janie) Carroll, Dan Carroll, Tim (Ann) Carroll and Rita (Cliff) Dawson; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and her sister, Linda Day.
The family would like to thank Mercy Cancer Center, Brian Freeman, M.D., John Martens, M.D., Chest Infectious Diseases, Daniel Barth, D.O. and most of all, Dona Van Berkum RN, OCN Nurse Navigator.

I worked with Bev many years & was happy to share our lives during that time. I will miss our phone conversations the most. I was impressed with her positive attitude throughout her illness. I have to share an email she sent in 2009 when John had his accident. It touched many lives & was worth saving. I did put this out there before but couldn't find it so I apologize if it shows up twice: Bev shared this with me & I thought it was worth passing along. (with permission)
Thanks.. Hubby is in bed now..
I have to tell you a story, this morning I was waiting for the elevator to go back up to the room and a man with a limp was standing there waiting also. He was very friendly to me and started talking about how time goes by so fast. That when he was 21 his mom told him that time is precious in life, then he became 30 and he realized just how fast time went by and now that he is in his 40s he realized how important every day is and he doesnt mind waiting for elevators. He said every moment has a purpose and then the elevator arrived. We both got on and he hit 2 so I figured he was someone that worked in pastoral care. He got off the elevator and looked at me and said May God be with you in your life today. That really touched me.. here was a man that lives with a limp (looked more like a club foot) younger than me telling me to slow down and take a moment in life to appreciate what God has given me. To take a moment and look at what I have and how lucky I am to have my husband still alive and a wonderful family and friends.
Thank you for your prayers they do work and I truly believe that all of us need the balance of God in our lives.

I was so saddened to hear about Bevs' passing. I worked with both her and Linda for many years at Mercy and attended Lindas' funeral. So Sad... I was never a computer genius and will remember Bev for her patience and kindness. I loved her. May it help knowing Bev and Linda are so happy to be reunited. My husband of 47 years passed at Mercy Hospice in October. It is not easy. Lean heavily on your faith to help you and your family through this loss. Thank goodness for faith or it would be so much more difficult. She will be missed and forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

I met Bev when I was 12 and we immediately became good friends. She taught me how to ride horses, well...she was always at the reins and I was holding onto her for dear life. We continued to be friends through school and I was also friends with Chris. Bev was always glad to see a friend and her smile showed it. I guess we lost track of each other over the years and I was saddened when I saw notice of her passing. My thoughts and prayers to her family.

Lots of good memories with Beverly. I spent lots of time at the house invading the cookie jar as a kid. My heart is broken to hear the news. She was an awesome lady.
