Sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the Bible's promise at Revelation 21:4 "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."

Larry was a great neighbor for the short time we got to know him. Always had a great story to tell us, and would always be willing to help with anything you need. I will surely miss sitting on the front porch on a nice summer day, and just talking about anything that came to mind. I was proud to call him my neighbor and friend.

When I began my Law Enforcement career with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, SGT Parkins was one of the men who helped to train me. He was an "old school" cop that taught me many things ...many things that probably kept me alive over a twenty-seven year long career. I considered him a great friend, a great man, a great leader, and a great cop. He will be welcomed on the streets of heaven.

Larry Parkins was a cop's cop, trusted and respected by those who served along side him. Regardless of whether he was arresting you or assisting you, he was fair but firm.
His heart was genuine and loving, his actions were selfless and straight forward. I am grateful for your friendship, loyalty and faithfulness you displayed to me while at work and as a honorable friend. I will be praying with your friends and family during this transition in their lives.
