Carolyn McFadden, 72, passed away February 21, 2017, at Methodist West Hospital. She was born in Des Moines on January 12, 1945, to Donovan and Lois Bothwell.
Carolyn retired from Lutheran Hospital after 35 years. She enjoyed traveling when she was younger, shopping, and had a love for all animals. Above all else, her greatest joy came from time spent with her family.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Denise Kinnaman and Diana (Donnie) Whisenand; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; as well as her brothers, Bruce and Raymond Neff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Abner; son, Donnie McFadden; sister, Mary McFadden; and brother, Donnie Bothwell.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. Visitation will be held Friday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

I got to (was Honored) to work with Carolyn. She would come into work and tell stories of her birds.
