Richard “Dick” Kokemuller, age 76, passed away on February 17, 2017 at Taylor House Hospice. He was born on January 8, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Dick worked for JP Food Service for 29 ½ years and later in the maintenance department for Sysco Co. until his retirement in 2004. He enjoyed volunteering at the Ankeny Fire Department for 11 years. Dick hobbies and interests included, woodworking, golfing, baseball, and riding motorcycles. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 56 years, Shirley; children, Roy (Gina) Kokemuller and Ryan (Denise) Kokemuller; 10 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Hazel Kokemuller.

Family & Friends Gathering will be held at Dick and Shirley’s home from 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, February 26, 2017. Graveside service will be held at a later date.
