John Stevens

John Edward Stevens, age 61, passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 13, 2017 at his home in Des Moines.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

John was born June 23, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa to Glenn and Marjorie (Fayer) Stevens. He worked as an auto mechanic for Van’s Auto. John loved spending time with his family. His hobbies included fishing, playing softball, and racing his Camaro.

He is survived by his son, Randall Stevens (Jessie); daughter, Debra Stevens; mother, Marjorie Stevens; brothers, Mike (Yolanda) Stevens and Don (Vicki) Stevens; the mother of his children, Karen Alexander; adopted daughter, Tiffany Marvelli; adopted granddaughters, Victoria and Rebecca Marvelli; and many other extended family members and friends who will miss him.

John was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Stevens.
