Eugene "Gene" Moore, Sr.

Eugene “Gene” Charles Moore, Sr., 80, passed away February 3, 2017 at Genesis Senior Living Center.

Gene was born November 30, 1936 in Des Moines to Preston and Jean (Young) Moore. Following his high school graduation, he attended Pasadena City College where he studied welding. Gene served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. He retired from the State of Iowa in 2003, where he had been a custodian at the Hoover Building.

Gene is survived by his son, Bryan (fiancé Tanesha Vivian) Moore.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his children, Eugene Moore, Jr. and Debra Moore.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.
