Lee Allen Sparks
January 27, 2017
After a long battle with cancer, Lee Sparks went home to be with Our Lord and Savior on January 27, 2017.
He was born on September 11, 1956 in Albuquerque, N.M. Lee had lived a long and fulfilled life. Lee served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He and his wife, Julie, enjoyed nature, being outdoors, camping and working in the yard. Lee was the kind of man that would help you if he could. He was a big Indy Car fan, especially Bobby Rahal. Lee was a dedicated and loyal member of Living Waters Fellowship. He consistently reciprocated the love his wife shared for him. He will be missed.
Lee was preceded in death by his father, Robert Sparks and brothers, Robert “Lucky” and Matt. He is survived by his wife, of 42 years, Julie; his mother, Marie; children, Jennifer (Eric) Johnston and Allen (Misti) Sparks; granddaughter, Krystal Sparks; and other loving family and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at “The Well” at Living Waters Fellowship, 3161 SE 22nd Street, Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Lee.

I send my condolences to the family of Mr. Lee Sparks. This is a very comforting thought from the word of God. Acts 24:15, "I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection."

So sad to hear of Lee's passing. Although I haven't seen Lee in quite a while, I have great memories of times spent with him. My first and only Indy 500...the firs time I shot a rifle...my first and only hunting trip. Many childhood vacations to Iowa as I was growing up and many great dinners with Lee and Julie and their family when they lived in Albuquerque. He will be truly missed, but keep the faith....we will all be together again in the kingdom of heaven!
