William “Bud” Prock

Bud Prock was born June 16, 1926 in Des Moines, Iowa to William Sr. and Aria Prock. He passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 at the age of 90.

William married Clara and the two of them shared 64 beautiful years of marriage. He will be forever remembered for always being there to lend a helping hand and be there for you when you needed him most. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, David (Rita) Prock, Susan (Tom) Prock-Thacker, and Linda (Ron) Shahan; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary, Katherine, and Rose Carol; and special thank you to granddaughter, Jody Perez for being his caregiver.

Bud was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Clara; son, Steven; 4 brothers; 8 sisters; and his parents.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, January 30, also at Hamilton’s, with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
