Rachel Luna, 58, was born July 20, 1958 in Des Moines, the daughter of John and Angela Luna. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Unity Point Methodist Hospital.

Rachel went to East High school and was a full time, loving mother and grandmother. The one thing she enjoyed most was being with her family.

Rachel is survived by her children, Martine (Stacy) Ochoa, Monica (Francisco) Morales, Elena (Nelson) Segovia, and Rita (Jose) Merino; grandchildren, Kendra, Francisco, Ignacia, Jose, Rachel, Rito, Claudia, Angel, Martina, Rosie, Juancarlos, Antonio, Monica, Eric, Lydia, Alicia, Sydney, Matthew, Marco, Yuliana, Alfredo, Jivonni, and Jazlene; great grandchildren, Adrian, Angel, Javier, Jose, Juan, Joaquin, and Deysi; sister, Mary (Dagoberto) Luna-Rodriguez; brothers, Richard Luna, Joe (Linda) Luna, Roman (Pamela) Luna, Ramon Luna, Charles (Bette) Luna, Robert Luna, and Antonio (Donna) Luna; sister-in-law, Bessi Luna; brother-in-law, Danny Greenland. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Angela Luna; husband, Martin Ochoa; brother, John Luna; sisters, Connie Luna and Adela Greenland.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St, Des Moines. A memorial service will be held 12:00 pm, Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Service Center at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.
