Service Details
Thomas Eugene Ackerman, 70, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Methodist Medical Center. Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home.
Thomas was born February 21, 1937 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Thomas is survived by his wife of over 43 years, Mary; daughter, Stefani Kimbley; four sisters, Arlene Whatling, Susan Hand, Deborah Ford and Marcia Rumage; brother Stephen Ford; three grandsons and one great grandson.
Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Mary (and family),
I just want to pass along again, how sorry I am with Tom's passing. I will truly be lost with out him at the Superwash. Such a tragic accident, that I still can't believe it.
I also wanted you to know that I will not be able to attend the memorial service. I have been scheduled to go out of town for the weekend and was not able to change my plans.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

Tommy was my oldest brother and I am so sorry I cannot be there, but I send some memories of him.
I remember when he was a young man and I was just a little girl and he would put me up on his shoulders and I thought that was so cool and then I asked him if he would put me up on the garage roof and he did and I can remember sitting up there for hours and our mom yelling Deborah! and me being up there where I was all alone and it was cool up there and finally Tommy got me down.
I also remember the first time he brought Mary to our house, the both of them on horseback and introduced her to mom. I really thout that was a great date, riding horses.
Plus, the times when he and Mary would visit when Jason was small. I still have the pictures.
I am so sorry, Mary, but he is at peace now.
May God grant you comfort.
