Pattie Luce, 82, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016. She was born on May 3, 1934 in Baxter, Iowa.

Pattie held various jobs in her life, but she was most satisfied with her job at Tones Spices where she was an avid Teamster and later retired in 1996.

Pattie enjoyed going to horse races, traveling, Iowa Hawkeye games, picnics, family reunions and telling of her childhood. She also enjoyed cooking and sharing what she had made with others. Card games such as Pokeno was one of her favorite things to do also she enjoyed the teasing and laughter of the group of friends she played with. But the thing she enjoyed most were her children, family dinners, her little dog Gizzy and the wonderful friends she made at her apartment complex.

Pattie has 7 children, Joe (Kathy) Luce, Diane (Brad) Ziegler, Joyce (Steve) Gregory, Terry (Dave) Warren, Sherry (Gail) Anderson, Kim (Mark) Rundle, and Jim (Saree) Luce; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Maxine Thomas left to cherish her memory.

Pattie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rosemand Luing; 4 brothers; and 1 sister.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with funeral service to begin at 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
