Lewis Pool

Lewis M. Pool died on Friday, December 16, 2016 at the age of 95 at the Altoona Nursing and Rehab Center in Altoona, Iowa. He was born on May 18, 1921 in Oreland, Pennsylvania.

He is survived by his wife Mary and their three children and their families. Robert (Cynde) Pool and John (Mary) Pool, both of Runnells, and Mary Lou (Tom) Ogle of Grinnell; one sister, Alice Acock; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Lew enjoyed woodworking, mowing his lawn, and watching sports on TV. He spent his career as a manufacturing engineer for several Iowa Companies. Lew was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy. He was a member of the Runnells Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. Lew moved to the Runnells area in 1964 and resided there until 2015 when he entered the Altoona Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
