Ruthy Patch

Ruth Anne Patch, 51, will be remembered as being a kind, loving, generous and caring spirit. Ruthy passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from a preexisting medical condition. Ruthy pursued a life-long love of music and art, starting music composition and art at a very young age. Ruthy took piano lessons from Maxine McCaw for many years and then studied music composition from Dr. Francis Pyle, head of Drake University Music Department.
Ruthy graduated from Lincoln High School where she sang in several choirs. Ruthy studied composition and musical theatre at the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. In Manhattan, Ruthy studied at the American Music and Dramatic Academy and performed off-off Broadway, with the NYC Metro Opera, and The Actor’s Workshop. Ruthy then moved to Switzerland where her husband worked for the United Nations. She moved back to Des Moines to be closer to her family.
Ruthy was born April 10, 1965 to James and Sharon (Kirkpatrick) Patch. She is survived by her father, James; sister, Bonnie (Darrin) Green; former husband and best friend, Luis; a host of loving family and friends; and special friend, Geno.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon and her brother, James “Jeff” Patch.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Wakonda Christian Church, 3938 Fleur Drive. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the church.

My sincere condolences to the family and dear friends. It is by no means easy dealing with the death of a loved one, nor does God want to see us suffer. For this reason, 1 Peter 5:7 states, "Throw all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you."
