Marjorie Nelson, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at the age of 101, at The Bridges of Ankeny. She was born in Rippey, Iowa, on September 25, 1915, the daughter to Claire and Myrtle Fessler.
Marjorie was a homemaker much of her life, devoting herself to raising her family and caring for their home. She enjoyed camping, fishing, sewing, cooking and baking. Above all else, she cherished her family and loved spoiling her grandchildren as much as possible. Marjorie was a faithful member of Highland Park Christian Church.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Kathryn (Rick) Frisk; grandchildren, Keith (Brenda) Davis, Michelle (Greg) Brown, Brent Davis, Scott (Rachel) Passage, and Paul Davis; great-grandchildren, Brad, Angela, Clint, Michael, Megan, and Ben; great great-grandchildren, Kirk, Dylan, Rylee Jo, Devyn, Gavin, Emri, and Teddy; sisters, Rochelle Moynier and Janette Short.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl M. Nelson; daughter, Delores Davis; sister, Wanda Cameron; and brother, Daryle Fessler.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. with funeral services to begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Highland Park Christian Church, 4260 NW 6th Drive, Des Moines. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Suncrest Hospice and her wonderful caretakers at The Bridges of Ankeny for their kindness and compassion.

Although I never met you, I feel like I know you through the wonderful things your Grandson, Paul Davis, has told me about you. You lived such a long, loving, wonderful life, I know you are basking in the love of the lord in Heaven. A very well-deserved reward for a beautiful lady. God bless you.

The greatest Grandmother of them all. I love you and miss you all ready. Thank you for the 54 years of being one of my guiding lights in my life and the family. You are the greatest! Will miss you dearly.
