Bonita Marie Sheets “Bonnie”, age 71, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. She was born on November 23, 1945 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Bonnie was a faithful and active member of the Baha’i Faith. Throughout her years, she enjoyed and excelled at cooking and sewing. Bonnie also thoroughly enjoyed all things science fiction. She was quite the intellectual and believed in keeping her mind at its greatest strength by doing logic puzzles, crosswords and brain teasers. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and dear friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Rebecca and husband, Robert Zapata; Peg and husband, Don Wallace; Michael William Sheets; and Patricia and husband, Steve Davis; 5 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 22 step-great-grandchildren; care giver and friend, Connie Richardson; and extended family members and loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna Bradley; brother, Michael Bradley; father of her children, Harold Sheets; as well as an infant daughter.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., with funeral service to begin at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Private family burial will be held at Rising Sun Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.

Memorial Contributions may be designated to the family to defray funeral expenses.
