Janice Lea (Rheuport) Myers died Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at her home in Johnston after a long battle with cancer and under the care of hospice. She was 72.

Jan was born in Des Moines and was a proud graduate of East High School. She worked at East Des Moines National Bank and later retired from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. She was a former member of Order of the Eastern Star and ABWA. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, cross-stitch, all kinds of puzzles and spending time with family. Her granddaughters were the light of her life.

Among survivors are her son, Kenny (Rox Ann) of Wortham, Texas; her daughter, Kelli (Bob) Coffey of Johnston; her sister, Nancy Kiehne of Reinbeck; her brother, Richard Rheuport of Granbury, Texas; and four granddaughters, Jessi Myers and Lindsey Myers of Des Moines and Lilli Mahon and Logan Mahon of Johnston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Iola and Kenneth Rheuport.

The family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, November 25 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St., and services will be held there at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 26. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Orilla.
