Margaret Ann Gomez

Margaret Ann Gomez, age 65, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016. Margaret was born October 24, 1951 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Wilma Bourne. She was a business owner of Las Cosas Chicas Boutique Shop. Margaret had a love for playing pool and was involved in many leagues. She was also an avid cribbage player. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and reading cookbooks. She also had a passion for bird watching and learning everything she could about them. Margaret will be remembered for touching many people’s lives with her wit and her humor.

Margaret was very resourceful, and she helped many, many people by giving of her time. She liked shopping for herself and for others. She also loved little black dresses. Margaret enjoyed small gatherings with lots of food! She enjoyed sharing the childhood experiences of her family and brought the stories to life.

Margaret taught her family to end phone conversations with “I love you”. She was a strong person, enduring physical pain and heart complications for many years. Yet she didn’t let those obstacles stop her.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving daughter, Angela Arellano; grandchildren, Alexandra, Adriana, Mathew, Sebastian, Jazmin, and Esteban; significant other, Gary Starliper; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Roger (Cyndee); and sister, Susan.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 22nd, 2016 at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Pkwy, West Des Moines. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Memorial Contributions be directed to the family in loving memory of Margaret.
