Ella L. Olsan, 88, of 2660 Grand Avenue died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007 at Hospice Kavanagh House on 56th Street.
Services are at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 30, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, with burial at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Mrs. Olsan was born in Orient, Adair County, Iowa and lived in Des Moines most of her life. She retired after 53 years as the co-owner of Olsan’s Flowers in Des Moines and was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Gerald Olsan.
She is survived by her nephew Gary Alexander and his wife Dana; foster nephew Eugene Carter and his wife Kongmy.
Friends may call after 12 noon Thursday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

My dear brother and sister;
My heart is very heavy and sad today, knowing how much you are feeling the loss of Aunt Ella. Even though I am not a blood relative, she will forever be remembered as such. I am very honored to have gotten to meet her on your wedding day. She brought such joy to the festivities and I found a new friend. She is with our Lord and Gerald and is very happy. Instead of being sad, please try to feel the happiness that she brought to others and celebrate her life, not her death.

Gary, I'm was sorry to learn of the passing of Ella but realize she is in a better place. She made her peace with her God some time ago and has been ready for this for a while. She is with Gerald now and I would bet Ella is having quite a chat with him. Remember Ella and the good memories that you have of her. God bless you and yours.
