Perley Mae Thomas, age 65, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, November 16, 2016.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m., with funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

Perley was born July 23, 1951 in Sikeston, Missouri. She was devoted and faithful to God and was a member of New Beginnings Full Gospel Family Church. In her free time, she enjoyed collecting antiques and trinkets. Above all, she cherished time spent with her grandkids and family whom she loved with all her heart. Perley was a friend to many and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving children, Nicole Tate, Victor Tate, Barbara Tate (Jerry Berry), and Jason Tate; step-sons, Tony Thomas and Douglas Tucker; step-daughter, Sandy Thomas; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way; siblings, Rose Trice, Chuckie West, Stan West, Sherry West-Knight, Sylvia Wilson, Patricia West-Martin, Carolyn Gunjardo, Willie West, Larry West, and Denise West; best friend, Anna McDonald; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving family & friends.

Perely was preceded in death by her daughter, Tamara Tate; husband, Tony Thomas; her mother, Odessa Robinson; and nephew, Damian West.
