I ran into this very interesting fellow about 12 years ago while I was attempting to serve court papers at a property in Des Moines. A man just walked right up and started asking me questions. He introduced himself as Stan Strock and we started talking ... for about an Hour. I learned ALOT about Stan that day, but I really enjoyed chatting with him. He had one of those unique personalities that one is lucky to encounter, he was quite the character. I only met you once Stan but will never forget you telling me, in your exuberant east coast accent, how you "loved to play Super Mario Brothers on an old Nintendo....Every Day!". I hope we might play it once together when I get up there. Rest in Peace Stan.

As a staff member of the Des Moines Catholic Worker House, I saw Stanley every day that I was on shift for the last year or so. We all loved Stanley's tenacious and stubborn personality. We all knew how he wanted his coffee, what he did and didn't like to eat, his favorite place to sit, what stories he liked to tell, and just how he felt about pretty much everything haha. We will sure miss him! A lot.

We did not know Stanley as well as other people did, but he lived near us. We loved his humor and his stories about his mom and the war. Rest in peace.

I lived down the street from Stan many years ago, Stan helped my family out in many ways, I have many fond memories of him, many found him strange or odd, I found him to be very caring, knowledgeable, and very opionated, So rest in peace Stan you will always be in my family's heart.

I met Mr. Stock this year in April at the Catholic Worker House. What an interesting and lively soul! He shared some stories and kept a group of us laughing. We commented on his full head of hair and he seemed pleased and proud. I am so sorry for your loss, his family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Rest is peace, Stanley.
