Rosalie H. Berglund

Rosalie H. Berglund, 88, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Trinity Center in Des Moines.

She was born November 28, 1927 in Shenandoah, Iowa to Carl August Seig and Mable Brown Seig. She was a resident of Shenandoah for most of her life before moving to Des Moines six years ago to be closer to family. Rosalie married Charles Edward Berglund on February 20, 1954. They shared 54 years together before his passing in 2008. During her working years, she was employed as a telephone operator and an LPN, lastly for Garden View Care Center. Rosalie was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Shenandoah. She adored her grandchildren and treasured time spent with them. Rosalie liked collecting antiques, gardening, and was a cat lover.

She is survived by her daughter, Carla Meiners; son, Danne Berglund (Kara Thompson); grandchildren, Benjamin Meiners, Kelsey Meiners, Zachary Berglund, and Brian Berglund; and her sister-in-law, Evelyn Jones.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mable Seig; husband, Charles Berglund; son-in-law, Randy Meiners; brother, Paul Jones; and sister, Ellen Reavis.

There will be a memorial service for immediate family at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016.
