Service Details
Mike Cortez was born on June 23rd, 1961 in Des Moines, Iowa. He died on November 10, 2016. Mike graduated from Moline High in Moline, IL. He entered the Military right after high school and also served in the National Guard for 10 years, but because of Muscular Dystrophy he was forced to retire.
He is survived by his mother, Roberta Cortez Vallejo; step-father, Mike Williams; Tia Linda; also many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, November 14th also at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Muscular Dystrophy Association

I'm so sorry aunt Bertie, I love and miss Mike so much. He was the toughest man/godfather/father figure I've ever had. But I know that he is in a better place with other loved ones that we've lost. And I will and always will be Mike's munchkin. He's gone and will never be forgotten. Please let me know if there is anything you or aunt Linda need.
