Karen D. Gillespie

Karen Gillespie, 66, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016. She was born in Des Moines, IA on February 2, 1950, to Lee and Esther Myers.

Karen enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the casino, and visiting Ledges State Park. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family picnics.

Karen is survived by her children, Larry (Christina) and Frank (Juanita); 11 grandchildren, Michael, Rebecca, Shelby, Joseph, Larry David Lee, Jerry Jr., Jessica, Darlene, Christina, Frank Jr., and Alexandria; 4 great-grandchildren, Destinee, Natalie, Emalie, and Owen; as well as other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Sr., and husband, Larry Sr.

Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m., with a service to begin at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, November 14, 2016, Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
