Randy Harlan Fears passed away on November 8, 2016 of natural causes. He was born on October 2, 1965 to John Fears and Carole Mendenhall. He loved fishing, music, Vikings football, garage sailing, thrift shopping and collecting antiques, singing and Nascar.
He is survived by his cat, Mr. Baby and his “Sweetums” (girlfriend), Debbie Mallory of Des Moines, and several close friends: Dave, Debbie and Shawn Smithhart of Ottumwa and the Firestine family of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carole Mendenhall-Line and John Fears, and his grandparents, Harlan and Maxine Mendenhall.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Union Park Baptist Church (821 Arthur Ave) on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 1 PM, with an open house reception following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Lifeline or the ARL of Iowa.

I am still in shock...he was one of the realest guys I knew. Even when I hadn't seen him in years after 5 minutes together everything was like old times. You was my best friend you made me laugh so hard I would cry I will miss your funny little sayings the way you would tap your head and say something funny made you so silly I have known you for years and you always new I was joking with you I just can't think of life with out you around you will forever be in my heart and soul miss my best bubby. :'(

Sad to hear Randy has passed. Although he and I had not seen each other in years we always remained friends and it is so sad to think we will not see one another again in this lifetime.
