Mary Lou Swale

Mary Lou Swale, 73, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 6, 2016 at her home in Des Moines.

Mary Lou was born October 12, 1943 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a very well-liked person who was loved by everyone who knew her. She resided in Chicago, IL, Hot Springs, AR, and Texas before returning to Des Moines. She enjoyed traveling and one of her favorite destinations was Branson, MO. She was employed at Marketlink and the Des Moines Register.

Mary Lou is survived by her brother, John W. Davis (Tina), sister, Ruby E. Elings, and multiple nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Davis and Mary Neal; siblings, James Davis, Richard Davis, William Davis, Ronald Davis, Thomas Davis, Nancy Ballard, and Donna Marie Davis; husband, Clinton E. Swale; and her companion, John Elings.

Graveside services will be conducted at Elm Grove Cemetery in Des Moines at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Taylor House Hospice.
