Johnny Killen, age 62, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines with his family by his side.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 6, 2016, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 7, 2016, at the same location, followed by interment at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Johnny was born October 26, 1954, in Des Moines, Iowa to John and Betty (Johnson) Killen. He enjoyed spending time with his family and going to the races. Johnny worked at DAV in his early years, before moving to Kansas City, then California.
Johnny is survived by his siblings, Buck (Linda) Killen, Linda Reed, Bill (Cheryl) Killen, Eddie (Pam) Killen, Donnie (Terri) Killen, and Tom (Robyn) Killen; ten nieces; 11 nephews; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty Killen; first spouse, Charles Pierschbacher; second spouse, Vince Basile; brother-in-law, Buck Reed; nieces, Barbara Killen and Carol Kalar; and two infant nephews.
Memorial contributions may be directed to an organization of the donors’ choice.

Uncle John,
