Service Details
Beverly Ione Hofling, 85, passed away October 31, 2016. Services will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 2801 Jackson St. in Sioux City, IA with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Elk Point, SD.
Beverly was born August 14, 1931 in Elk Point, SD to Blanda (Sonen) and Irvy Ranum. She married Charles Hofling in 1958 and the couple farmed near Elk Point until 1965. They then relocated to Sioux City, IA where Charles began a new career and the couple built their life. When she became ill, Beverly recently moved to Urbandale to be closer to her daughter. She enjoyed playing cards and games with her friends and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes on television.
She is survived by her daughter, Claudia (Eric) Howell of Urbandale; sisters, LaVonne Lundgren of Sioux City, Delores Hofland of Elk Point; and many nieces and nephews. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Charles and her parents.

While we were growing up, aunt Bev was one of our favorite people! She and Charles were just the kind of people we wanted to be!

We are so sad to hear of Beverly's passing. Although, we did not know Beverly personally with such a talented and wonderful daughter, we know Beverly must have been an amazing person and a terrific mother. Our prayers are with your family and friends at this difficult time.
