Raymond "Ray" Grogan

Raymond (Ray) LeRoy Grogan, 75 passed away on October 30, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born January 2, 1941 in Ottumwa, Iowa. Ray married Sue Brown on July 27th, 1962.

Ray built Armstrong tires for 30 yrs. Ray enjoyed bowling, working in his garage, going to the lake, and spending time with his family.

Ray is survived by his wife of 54 yrs, Sue Grogan; his children, RaeAnn (Kyle) Robinson, Karla (Tim) Logan, Lisa Grogan, Michael (Kodi) Grogan, and Billy Palmer; eleven grandchildren, Broc, Kyer, Breanna, Brandon, Shelby, Brody, Ashlyn, Kenadee, Kenzie, Addie and Mylee; six great grandchildren, Ashton, Cadence, Piper, Ryder, Beckett, and Zander; one brother, Jack Grogan; and his best friend Kirby.

Ray was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Makenna Grogan; his father, mother, three brothers, and one sister.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 412 Euclid Avenue, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
