Robert “Bob” Lowell Lingle, 77, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family in Des Moines, Iowa after a long battle with cancer.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 24, 2016, also at Hamilton’s, with interment at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Bob was born November 11, 1938, to the late Frank and Rose (Logston) Lingle in New Virginia, Iowa. On August 30, 1960, he was united with Lois Carpenter. Together they had three daughters, Connie Enos-Farnum (Sonny) of Des Moines, Iowa, Vickie Worthington (Jeff) of Ackworth, Iowa, and Debra Phillips (David) of Clive, Iowa. He was blessed with eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, whom he loved very much. Bob had 15 siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was a coast to coast road driver until his retirement in November of 2003. Bob drove the church van and attended Lee Town Assembly of God. He also provided the Word of the Lord to many local nursing homes.
His favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, gardening, tinkering with old pickup trucks, and spending quality time with family and friends. Bob considered his brother-in-law, George Carpenter as a brother and best friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, twelve siblings, and other family members.
His family extends special thanks to Hospice of Central Iowa staff and a special thank you to his nurse, Brittany. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Bob. Condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.
May God bless you all.
