Charles Burt

Charles D. Burt, 88, of Des Moines died on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at the Fleur Heights Care Center. He will be cremated and a memorial visitation will be held from 4-6 PM Thursday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home.
Charles had worked for many years as a sales manager for Orville Lowe Midtown Motors, Glenn Motors and Holmes Oldsmobile. He was a WWII Navy Veteran serving in the Pacific theatre as well as the Normandy invasion. He was a member of the VFW, the Masonic Lodge and was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his sons DeVere Burt and his wife Pat of Cincinnati, Ohio and Ed Burt of Des Moines, his brother Robert Burt of Des Moines, his grandson Charles Burt and great grandchildren Zachary and Sophia. He was preceded in death by his wife Faye. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his name to the Fleur Heights Care Center.
