Richard Todd

Richard Nelson Todd, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Bright Kavanagh House on 56th in Des Moines. Richard fought a courageous battle of Leukemia and in 2014 he received a bone marrow transplant. One of the proudest moments in his life was being able to meet his donor.
Richard was born July 20, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa. He worked as a truck driver for Darling International. He enjoyed fishing, singing karaoke and loved spending time with his family who meant everything to him.
Those left to cherish his memory include, his loving wife, Sandy; step-children, Jason (Lisa) Robuck and Robert Sims; grandson, Joe Robuck; great-grandson, Zion; sisters, Sue (Randy) Peterson, Kitty (Mike) Butler, Brenda Vandermark, and Norma Todd; brothers, Harold (Angel) Todd and Ronnie (Cheri) Todd; uncle, Andy Powell; aunt, Marge; nieces and nephews, Gene, Terry, Pat, Chris, Stephanie, Vicke, Amanda, Ronnie Jr., David, Shelby, Haley, Melissa, and Marty II; and many great-nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, N.S. and Pauline Todd; brothers, Norman Todd and Ed Todd; brother-in-law, Bill Vandermark; grandson, Justin; niece, Elizabeth; nephew, Jack; and his grandparents.
Celebration of Richard’s Life will be held at a later date.
