David McClemons

David McClemons, 62, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
David retired from Firestone in 1995 after 32 years of service. After retirement, he worked for HyVee in Indianola for seven years. He was a member of the Steelworkers Union. David enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathy; children, Elizabeth (Mark) Thornton, Robert (Tracey) McClemons and Matthew McClemons; three grandsons, Robert (Alisha Bales) Thornton, Skylar Thornton and David Thornton; two granddaughters, Nicholette Vance and Kaylie Mae Freeman; sister, Mary Ann (Benny) Gambrel; brother, Ron (Elaine) McClemons; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Iris McClemons; brother, Robert McClemons; and sisters, Barbara Burrel, Virginia McClemons and Kathleen Miklus.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Milo Rescue First Response and Kristen Fridley and Deb Brumgarten for their personal care.
