Michael "Luke" Lucas

Michael Lucas, 72, passed away October 9, 2016. Services will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA with visitation on Thursday, October 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. and the funeral service on Friday, October 14 at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow the service with burial at a later time.

Michael was born June 2, 1944 to Ed and Margaret Lucas. He graduated from Beaman-Conrad High School in 1962 and took an interest in the HVAC industry. Michael worked at Morrell Heating and Cooling for 24 years. In his spare time, he loved fishing, his beloved schnauzers, and spending time with grandchildren and his lifetime buddies, Cal Beam and Jerry Cooper.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Lucas of 39 years; children, Tim (Lisa) Lucas, Danny Gilge, Tammy (Dean) Hennick, Patty Johnson, Clay (Tracy) Gilge, and Eric Gilge; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John; and his sister, Kathleen.
