Service Details
Robert "Bob" Prince, age 77, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 14th, with family present from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15th, also at Hamilton’s, with a second visitation time for an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery.
Robert was born November 9, 1938 in Goldston, Mississippi to Charlie and Annie (Hudson) Prince. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and worked as a forklift operator for Firestone in Des Moines until his retirement. He was a member of URW USW Local 310. Robert enjoyed cars, gardening, and animals, especially his cat, Pockets.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Krystal Prince of Des Moines; life companion, Sharmon Johnson of Ankeny; and brother, J.D. Prince of Omaha, NE.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Prince in 1989 and his parents, Charlie and Annie Prince.
