Connor John Schnell, 8, of Grimes died Monday, November 19th at Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines.
Connor was born June 19, 1999 at University of Iowa Hospital and lived in Granger and Grimes, Iowa. He was a second grade student at Dallas Center-Grimes Elementary. He enjoyed participating in baseball, soccer, basketball, swimming and Cub Scouts.
Connor was baptized on November 21, 1999 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Grimes and was active in Sunday school. His love for life will continue to be a gift. Through organ donation, Connor has already blessed other children.
Connor is survived by his parents, Jeff and Sheri Schnell of Grimes; grandparents Alvin and Fern Meyer of Ackley, IA; Marilyn Schnell of Janesville, IA; many aunts, uncles, cousins and “Katie” the cat. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gerald Schnell; and infant cousin Trayton Meyer.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. on Friday, November 23, 2007 at Hamilton’s on Westown, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, IA 50266. Family will be present from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 24, 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 1001 S. James Street, Grimes, IA 50111 with burial at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Connor Schnell Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank.

Ican't began to tell you how sorry i am for both of you in your loss. Ijust cried when i heard the news. But he will live on in many lives with his organs being donated.

Our family is deeply sorry for the loss of your son. We can only imagine what you must be experiencing, and each of us have shed our own tears for your suffering. Your Conner is in the same Boy Scout Pack as our Connor and we will miss him terribly. But, we know that Conner is with our Lord and is wrapped in his arms. My 3 boys have wanted to pray for you daily and asking God to give you comfort.
