Norman Stivers

Norman Stivers, Sr., 91, died Sunday, September 18, 2016, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. He was born September 10, 1925, to Everett and Anna Stivers.

Norman served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was united in marriage to Beverly Blackford on May 21, 1953. He owned and operated Stivers Plumbing and Heating in Altoona, IA. Norman enjoyed fishing and being a pilot in his spare time.

Norman is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Norman Jr. (Kim) and Dave (Sheila); grandchildren, Matt, Eric, Mindy, and Katie; great-grandchild, Brayden; siblings, Robert (Marge), Jane, and Mary Lou. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kristi; his parents; and siblings, Everett, Don, Harold and Betty.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Altoona Cemetery.
