Service Details

Gordon Douglas Brown, 75, went home Monday, November 19, 2007 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Bethel AME Church with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
Gordon was born May 10, 1932 in Des Moines to Fred and Beatrice Brown. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Gordon retired from Pittsburgh Steel in Des Moines.
Gordon was a member of the Untachables Motorcycle Club from it’s inception in 1983. His riding name was “Cruiser”. He said he wouldn’t ride fast but if you turned around he was always right there, hence the name “Cruiser”.
Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Margie; his daughter, Gordette; and his parents. He is survived by his aunt, Shirley Whiteside; a host of nieces and nephews; very special friend, Lois Hunt; and his precious dog, Brittany.
