Irene M. McFaul

Irene McFaul, born in Runnells, Iowa, October 26, 1923, to Ernest and Eva Gulling, died in Des Moines on September 17, 2016.
Once named ‘Neighbor of the Week’ by the Des Moines Register & Tribune, Irene enjoyed remaining close to her family, friends, neighbors and those she worked with before retiring from HyVee in the mid-1980s. She was a very helpful and giving individual who was always doing for others.
Irene is survived by her stepmother, Lucille Gulling of IL; her daughters, Barbara Hays-Ackley of MO, Nancy (Rex) Jordan and Kathy Stover of Des Moines; son, Terry Stover of Des Moines; 5 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren, and many others who lovingly called her Grandma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben McFaul; a grandson and numerous other family members including her 5 brothers, Pete, Norman, Ivan, Blackie, and Don Gulling.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2016, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with a graveside service to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Irene.

I am so sorry to hear of Irene's passing. I worked with her at the old E. Euclid Hy-Vee and I always enjoyed working with her. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Who could ever forget Irene, she made the best fried chicken on earth. I will miss her, but know she is waiting till I join her. I am sorry for the loss we all feel now, but rejoice in her gain upon seeing Jesus for the first time.

So sorry to hear of Irene's passing. She was such a sweet lady, who loved you all very much. I think of her every year when I make her rhubarb upside down cake. She will be greatly missed by many. Thinking of you all during this time.
