Samuel E. Hicks

Samuel Ed Hicks, 66, of Des Moines passed away on September 14, 2016 at home after complications due to a long battle with illness.

Samuel is survived by lifelong partner, Donna Reed, his children, Son Neil Hicks and his wife Amanda, and Daughter Marla Fowler and her husband James; his pride and joy; his grandchildren Ashley, Jaymz, and Zachary Fowler; Brandon, Abbie, and Braxton Jones, and two great-grandchildren; his siblings, Ted Hicks and his wife Linda, Eugene “Dinky” Hicks and his wife Shirley; and many loving nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Thomas and Eula Jane Hicks, and his sister Marilyn Louks.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, September 19, 2016 at Park Avenue Christian Church in Des Moines.
