Michael E. Murrell

Michael “Mike” Murrell, of Des Moines, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 following a tragic accident. Mike was born in Des Moines on June 5, 1964, the youngest of four children to Jim and Frances Murrell.
Mike went to Lincoln High School. He worked for many years for Pepsi Beverages Co. He was an avid motorcyclist and rode his Harley in 48 states. Mike loved heavy metal music and was a NASCAR fan.
Those left to celebrate his life are his parents, Jim and Frances; sisters, Vicki (Rick) Burchard and Susie (Brian Coffie) Murrell; brother, Jimmie (Deb) Murrell; nieces, Misty Stephenson, Kristina Hartzer, Amy Johnson and Kaitlyn Coffie; nephew, Jimmy Murrell; several great-nephews and great-nieces; a host of extended family members and many beloved friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. The family will greet friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Mike.

I am Michael's oldest sister, it has been 2 weeks since he left our family. We still can't believe he's gone. We loved him dearly and he had so many friends and co-workers who showed up for his Memorial Service. Thank you all for the love and support! Gone but not forgotten...RIP Mike
