Gene (Buzz) Romero, 50, was born August 24, 1966, and passed away on September 5, 2016. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, September 9, 2016, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. The Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 10 also at the funeral home.
Buzz was preceded in death by his mother, Nana Haines; siblings, Dale Klema, Lori Haines, and Shawn Milden. He is survived by his wife, Amy; son, Michael; father, Kermit Haines; Marion and Jan Sinclair; siblings, Chris Jensen, Leisha Mello (Mike), Bonnie Richards (Dennis), Lynn Anderson (Brian), Cindy Haines, Kermit Haines, Jr., Kelly Sinclair Jordan (Alex), Angela Haley (Mark), Holly Luca (Guy), and Craig Milden; many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Buzz worked at YMH Torrance for many years. His hobbies were playing pool and long peaceful rides over the country roads on his Harley with his beloved “brothers”. He adored his son, and spent many hours shooting hoops and riding 4- wheelers at the farm.

Buzz was a great and loyal friend to so many. He was morally strong and never waivered. Paul and I loved him as many did. I will miss him. I'm sure Paul Bennett had a cold Busch light waiting for him when those pearl gates opened for Buzz. Amy and Michael, my heart hurts for you both and I truly understand what you are going through.
