Kenneth Heathcote, Sr., 55, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Kenneth was born on November 11, 1960 to Herbert and Gloria (Beason) Heathcote in Des Moines, Iowa.
Kenneth loved working on cars and tinkering in the garage. He had a passion for racing, and loved taking trips to Knoxville and Eddyville for the races. Kenneth lived for Sunday afternoon NASCAR races and could always be found with a Bud Light in his hand mixed with Spicy V8 Juice. Heathcote (Brooke), Christina Kirkman, and Nicholas Heathcote; grandchildren, Steven, Cody, Brittany, Khaos, Samantha, Tyler, Dylan, Hailey, Connor, and Brendyn; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Amonte, A’mya, Asia, Meliyah, and Emily; siblings, Jack (Kerri) Heathcote and Shannon Heathcote (Randy); many nieces and nephews; and a host of loving relatives and special friends.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kerry Heathcote; and his Grandpa and Grandma Beason.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2016, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines, with visitation of friends and family prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Family wishes to invite everyone to bring a dish & drinks and join them for a reception in Kenneth’s honor following services held at Vickie Heathcote’s home 2709 E. 37th Ct. in Des Moines.
