Service Details
Frances H. Akin, 74, passed away August 27, 2016. Services will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA on Friday, September 2 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Jordan Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Frances was born July 19, 1943 in Des Moines. She was raised by her parents, Daniel and Augusta Cook. Frances worked as a waitress in various venues. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed golfing, cards, bingo and traveling.
She is survived by her children, Marlyn (Robbie) and Brian Rich; her sister, Joy Kaiser; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Ashley, Meliah, Zachary, Odyssey, Vada and Madison; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Betty Smalley and Daniel Cook.

Oh my. This is really happening. I miss you so much already. You were the light of my world. Your smile and caring ways are always going to be remembered. You did a lot for me and many others. Grandma there will never ever be a day that goes by that i won't be thinking about you. You were perfect. And now your no longer confused or in pain. You brightened my life in so many ways.
