Phillip Allen Gomez

Phillip Allen Gomez, age 25, was taken too soon on Sunday, August 14, 2016.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 22, also at Hamilton’s, with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery.

Phillip was born January 4, 1991, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Martin Gomez and Pamela Evans. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time fishing. Phillip was a very giving person and would willingly help his family with anything. He was a good handyman and lent his skills to those who needed them. Phillip loved loud music, good food, and had an extensive hat collection. He lived each day to its fullest and was always high on life. Above all, family meant everything to him, and he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Jayden Allen Gomez; father, Martin Gomez (Juanita Flores); mother, Pamela Evans; siblings, Antonio Evans Gomez, Cassandra (David) Van Dyke, and Martin Gomez Jr.; step-siblings, Marissa Flores, Macie Flores, and Jessica Rice (Matt); nieces and nephews, Olivia, Mariah, Giana, David III, Isaac, Eli, Ethan, Maison, and Elena; grandparents, Cindy Magneson and Juan Gomez; mother of his son, Danielle Yaw; as well as numerous other extended family and friends.

Phillip was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elena Gomez.
