Marilyn Correy Friel Church, 81, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Taylor House Hospice.
Marilyn was born May 9, 1935 in Cooper, Iowa to Irwin and Ethel Correy. She had been a member of Christ the King Catholic Church since 1961. Marilyn enjoyed painting, sketching, reading and puzzles.
Marilyn is survived by her sons, Mark Friel, David (Kim) Church, Andrew (Stephanie) Church and Brian (Marcia) Church; daughter, Catherine Blaskovich; 16 grandchildren; siblings, Norma Schlarbaum, Mahlon Correy and Janice Correy; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Friel and James Church.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 15, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Vigil Service at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 16th at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street followed by burial at Franklin Township Cemetery in Cooper, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa or Christ the King Church.

Spoke with Connie Merrifield and heard of Marilyn's passing...Jimmy & Marilyn were my neighbors from 1961 until 1973...I rode my first tricycle with Mark their son..babysat their babies...no words can express your loss..except our LOVE for the Church Family...RIP Marilyn ...xo See you soon ...such a sweetheart neighbor & MOM!

So sorry for your loss, never easy to have a family member pass let alone a sister and mother. Mahlon and Janice wishing you many happy memories and her children the same. Can only imagine the grand reunion she has with her heaven family.
