Alma King

Alma King, 92, died November 27, 2006 at Valley View Village. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial in Warren-Powers Cemetery in Adelphi. Visitation one hour prior to the service.
Alma was born November 4, 1914 in Red Boiling Springs, TN to John and Rene Birdwell. She moved to Des Moines in 1944 and attended Grandview Church of Christ.
Alma is survived by her children, Marion (Wilma) King of Des Moines, Linda (Gary) Lindquist of Joplin, MO, and John (Teri) King of Ankeny; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Marie King of Des Moines and Doris King of Dexter; and a host of other family and beloved friends.. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ancil L. King; sons, Dell and James King; three brothers; and three sisters.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
