Pauline Nutter

Pauline Ann Nutter, 86, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016, while in hospice care at Mahaska Health Partnership, Serenity House in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Pauline was born November 17, 1929 in Avoca, Iowa to Frank and Viola Briggs. She recently accepted salvation through Jesus Christ. Pauline worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company for many years before her retirement in 1985 and was a member of Local 310 Rubber Workers Union. She enjoyed crocheting, making cookies and spending time with her cats. Pauline was an avid gardener and always had a beautiful array of flowers blooming in her yard.

Pauline is survived by her son, Timothy (Jill Long) Nutter; siblings, Mary Scheel, Bonnie Porter, Edwin (Mary C) Briggs and Jerry (Elaine) Briggs; grandchildren, Rebekah (Sam), Daniel (Elizabeth), Nichol (Donald), Cassie (Eric), Justin and Jessica; ten great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild on the way; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judy Muzzey; and her brothers, Donald, Frank Briggs, Jr. and Jim Briggs.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 from 4 to 6 p.m. followed by funeral services at 6 p.m. Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Pauline’s body will be cremated following funeral services and she will be laid to rest at Altoona Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Pauline’s memory to the Animal Rescue League of Des Moines or the Alzheimer’s Association, Iowa Chapter.
