Lloydene Bright

Lloydene Bright, 91, was born March 1, 1925 in Des Moines, Iowa, to Lloyd and Pearl Fort. She passed away Aug. 2, 2016, at Edgewater Retirement Community, in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Lloydene lived most of her life in the Des Moines area, and was a graduate of East High School. She worked for the Rock Island Railroad for twenty five years. There she met Dale Bright, her husband of 52 years. She later retired from the American Assoc. of Railroads. Lloydene enjoyed visiting the West Des Moines Senior Center, and doing puzzles with her friends at Edgewater. She was a member of the West Des Moines Christian Church.

Lloydene is survived by her sister, Betty Arslanian, of Wheat Ridge, CO, and daughters, Donna (Brent) Willcox of Clive, IA, Joan Glenn of West Des Moines, IA, Barbara (Ken) Hay of Dyer, IN, Judy (Jim) Suss of Greenwood Village, CO, and Sue Miller of West Des Moines, IA; also 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Dale Bright; and her sister, Ramona Axser.

Visitation Aug. 8th at 10:00 a.m., West Des Moines Christian Church, 4501 Mills Civic Parkway. Funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. At the conclusion of services lunch will be served in the Fellowship Hall. Burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the First Christian Church in West Des Moines or the Edgewater Good Samaritan Fund.
